Do you offer Training?    

Yes! We are in the process of completing the education of our staff to offer several levels of training at Happy Hounds. 

When can I pick up my dog?

Check-in/check-out can be scheduled anytime during our hotel hours. Our boarding rate is daily, and check-out is at noon, Monday-Saturday. The daily rate will apply to boarders past noon on Sundays. 

What do I bring when I board my dog?

Happy Hounds discourages bringing any bedding or blankets from home. There will always be extenuating circumstances where an owner would like a favorite toy or blanket, and we will make every effort to return these items. Happy Hounds is not responsible for any items that are damaged or lost during your pup's stay. Please discuss any specific dietary requiprements with our staff before scheduling a boarding visit. We will make every effort accommodate your dog's needs while they stay with Happy Hounds. 

What shots are required to board or have my dog attend daycare?

All dogs must be up to date on their Rabies, DHPP, DHLPP, and Bordetella. All new customers will be required to give Happy Hounds Hotel & Day Spa authorization to contact your veterinarian for vaccine records. Additionally, all new dogs will require a temperament test before participating in any social activity such as daycare or boarding. 

Do I need to bring toys for my dog?

Happy Hounds does not advocate bringing toys with your dog for their stay as it may result in hoarding, resource guarding, or protective behavior. If there are extenuating or unique circumstances, please discuss them with our staff before scheduling an overnight stay. 

What is your cancellation policy? 

We require notification seven days before the start date of your dog's stay on scheduled holiday visits and forty-eight hours before check-in at all other times of the year. If you need to extend your pet's stay, we require notification twenty-four hours before the scheduled pick-up time. We understand there are event sthat you have no control over, weather, airline delays, and medical emergencies, and we will work with you to keep your pet safe and happy. 

Are you open on holidays? 

There will be no check-ins or check-outs permitted on holidays. The facility is staffed accordingly, but the lobby will be closed and unavailable. We are closed to the public on Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. We also close our lobby at noon on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. 

What is Happy Hounds policy in case of an emergency?

In case of an emergency, we will atempt to contact you or your listed emergency contact immediately. We will use your veterinarian or the veterinarian of our choice at our discretion. We may suggest you attach a signed note that details your wishes/limits if we need to seek veterinary care. Otherwise, we will do everything possible to preserve the life of your pet (i.e., bloating, bleeding, seizures.) Happy Hounds is not responsible for any veterinary costs incurred during your pet's stay.
